Discipline

Nouveau teachers and nannies are acquainted with the rules, regulations and policies of the Board of Education of Nigeria and observe and enforce these in the course of their duties.

A list of classroom rules is posted in our classes and regularly discussed with our children.  They also include a list of procedures and consequences when protocols are breached.  Our children are made to understand these at the get-go.

Our teachers and nannies provide close supervision of our children.  They also provide discipline when needed and necessary.  Nouveau staff are trained not to ignore any negative student action requiring corrective measures.  Neither do they ignore action worthy of commendation.

They are not allowed to use any form of corporal punishment whatsoever.

Students of 3 years and above must wear their school uniforms at all times, except on birthdays and on sports day, where the sports uniform is also mandatory.  Student attendance is recorded daily by the gate-woman and by the class teacher.

A Responsibility Sheet is kept on all children in the library.  This includes the title, textbook company, book number and condition of each assigned book.  Borrowed library books must be promptly returned.  Books damaged or lost will be charged to parents’ accounts.
